Tear Away Pole Costume!
I had a fantastic time designing and producing this tear away dance dress commission. It was fun problem-solving unusual issues - normal quick-change fasteners such as Velcro and magnets weren’t strong enough to last the pole dancing performance due to the extreme athletic moves required. Through trials and testing I came up with a crochet inspired solution. Linking the fabric together with loops and a crochet stitch enabled strength when performing, and by ‘frogging’ the stitches quickly, the dress fell off easily to reveal the second costume underneath.
